Taking your museum out on the town and into the classroom

Attract additional visitors to your doors by placing an interactive tour of your museum at a local airport or tourist information center.

Spin Browser™ video explorers are straightforward to set up and virtually maintenance free. This enables installation in offsite public areas, where they can offer virtual tours of your museum's exhibit areas, provide closeup sequences of featured exhibits, and give Omnimax movie previews. Educational video content can be combined with other informational services such as directions, admission and membership details.

If you rent large traveling exhibits, a Spin Browser VE kiosk highlighting the exhibit may be bundled for rental with the exhibit itself. This kiosk may then be installed by the renter in an local airport or mall as an ideal way to promote their cool new exhibit during its stay.

The Spin Browser VE may also be designed to run off a laptop computer. In this compact form, the system is ideal for bringing your museum's offerings to the classroom. A single person, such as an intern using public transporation, can transport the display to schools and set it up in less than 5 minutes. The Spin Browser VE technology may be used in the classroom both as a presentation tool, and to allow students to interactively explore virtually any subject.

  Technical training

By allowing lecturers and students to move fluidly, clearly, and quickly through tens of hours of video content at the touch of a dial, learning processes are dramatically enhanced. Whether the user is a medical student reviewing surgical procedures, an aircraft mechanic reviewing video of a jet engine reassembly, or a biologist studying processes in nature, the Spin Browser VE's ability to help quickly locate the material of interest, and then allow detailed review of this material, is invaluable.

"The Spin Browser [VE exhibit] leaves visitors with an experience they remember because it gives a new perspective with which to view even the most ordinary of events."

TechnoFrolics' patented Spin Browser™ video explorer (VE) brings the wonder and beauty of time lapse and high-speed video into the interactive realm.

This new technology allows interactive viewing of existing or custom-developed video footage and enables exciting, intimate explorations of any number of natural and human-developed processes.

Exploring at the speed of your imagination

The Spin Browser VE places control of the flow of time directly into the hands of your visitors.

Processes that range in scale from fractions of a second to thousands of years can be fluidly traversed forwards and backwards through a uniquely engaging and intuitive interface.

The power of this new technology lies in the instant response and incredible control of the flow of time experienced by users. They feel genuinely connected to the movement in the video.

The Spin Browser VE system also has the potential to monitor visitor dwell time within different sections, allowing educational researchers to assess visitor interest in different video content and presentation styles.

Exploring everything under and beyond the sun

Any video footage can be transformed into playable Spin Browser VE content.

Imagine, for example, having fluid and intuitive control over the progression, reversal and pausing of:

  • The rise and fall of tides
  • Factory robots at work
  • A dove in flight
  • A space shuttle launching
  • Balloons popping (and unpopping!)
  • A surgical procedure
  • A muffin baking
  • Gymnastics on skis and snowboards
  • The construction of a new museum
  • Nuclear blast tests

The above examples are events shown in Spin Browser VE installations at the New England Aquarium, COSI Columbus, the Spirit of Ford museum, and other locations.
